Accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health, these three qualifications are designed to improve the knowledge and skills of public-facing professionals and volunteers, or those looking to move into a public-facing role. Taught over the summer, the courses cover health improvement, mental health and supporting behaviour change, and can either be taken individually or all together.

The aim of this qualification is to provide you with an understanding of the principles of promoting health and wellbeing and enable you to direct individuals towards further practical support in their efforts to attain a healthier lifestyle. This qualification provides a foundation for those considering a role as a health trainer. It is mapped to the National Occupational Standards and functions of the Public Health Skills and Knowledge Framework and Making Every Contact Count guidelines.
The aim of this qualification is to provide you with the knowledge, confidence and skills to support individuals who are thinking of making a health behaviour change. It will enable you to understand the importance of effective communication in building rapport with individuals. It will also help you to understand how to work with individuals to increase their motivation to make a behaviour change and explore the factors that hinder and facilitate that change.
The aim of this qualification is to provide you with a knowledge and understanding of the principles of mental wellbeing, the effect of mental wellbeing on the individual and community, and how mental wellbeing can be maintained or improved.
This mental health and wellbeing qualification offers an understanding of attitudes and beliefs about mental health and wellbeing. It will enable you to explore theoretical models used to describe mental health and wellbeing and the strategies that may be used to promote the wellbeing of people in the community.
All qualifications are assessed through multiple choice examination.
These qualifications are accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH).
On completion of the course and the passing of the exam, you will receive your Level 2 certificate direct from the RSPH for each of the qualifications completed.
These qualifications are for anyone with an interest in health improvement, mental health, or behaviour change. The courses will be of particular use for public-facing professionals, those working in a public health, or health and social care setting, workplace health champions or volunteers working within communities.
Two summer schools will take place in 2020 with an early summer school delivered from Monday 8 June to Thursday 11 June 2020, with the summer school repeated late summer from Monday 14 September to Thursday 17 September 2020.

The cost for each qualification is ￡175. If two qualifications are booked during a summer school a 5% discount is applied (costing ￡332.50 for two qualifications). If all three qualifications are booked during a summer school a 10% discount is applied (costing ￡472.50 for three qualifications).
