Discover this camera-less photographic printing technique and make your own cyanotype prints using plants from local sources.
On this course you'll discover camera-less photographic printing techniques and make your own cyanotype prints using plants from local sources. You could even bring in your own examples. Find out about the cyanotype process and how Fox Talbot and Anna Atkins made the first photographs using flowers and plants from their gardens.
You'll be able to make prints using this old process and discover how to make wonderful compositions from flowers and grasses.
You'll be shown how to coat your own paper with the cyanotype chemistry and learn how to make digital negatives for combining the botanical examples of fresh and dried flowers and grasses. You'll make several prints using this process in natural daylight and learn how to fix your images on a range of different papers.
The course is aimed at anyone who would like to learn this alternative and camera-less printing process. It's suitable for beginners and those with photography skills wanting to try something new.
